We have great news to share. We’ve received a 2024 Houston Methodist DEI grant to support our adult day program! Now in its fourth year, the DEI Grant Program will support more than 52,000 people in the #HTX community through 22 healthy neighborhood programs, 12 economic empowerment programs and 13 educational empowerment programs. A significant number of individuals with autism face the daunting challenge of losing critical support when they graduate or age out of school-based autism services. Avondale House steps in to bridge that gap through the adult day program, providing an invaluable lifeline for individuals 22+. The day program empowers participants by imparting vital life skills and vocational training, all tailored to the participant's unique, individualized service plan. Thanks so much again to the Houston Burns & McDonnell office for choosing Avondale House to be the sole beneficiary of their 2024 Charity of Choice campaign! We are thrilled to announce that they raised over $33,000 to support Avondale House! We are so grateful for their incredible support and commitment to our mission. The campaign, named Together We Thrive, consisted of Burns & McDonnell fundraising and raising awareness for our organization through several events, such as this incredibly unique slime fundraiser!
