From squads all the way to divisions and corps, the U.S. Army is working hard to build a force ready to win on a future battlefield that promises to be more complex, lethal and volatile than ever. “Time is not a friend,” said Gen. Andrew Poppas, commanding general of U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM). “We need to be prepared when called upon.” #ReadMore in ARMY magazine: https://loom.ly/NwZtwpc #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #FORSCOM #corps #division #general #work #armymagazine

In the U.S. Army, “moral courage” is a trait expected of every officer, but not consistently demonstrated when the chips are truly down. Moral courage is when a person sees something wrong and does more than say to themselves, “This isn’t right.” They do something. Mere hand-wringing also does not count. Moral courage is important in all things, because, as a wise first sergeant once told me, “When you walk by something that ain’t right and don’t say anything, then that becomes the new standard.” This was the case with Capt. Elbridge Colby, who put his career on the line for principle. He saw something that was wrong and did something about it. #ReadMore in ARMY magazine: https://loom.ly/Cfirlow #AUSAorg #AUSA #USArmy #courage #career #leadership

Key issues for military families—and their service members’ propensity to continue serving—were inextricably linked to their well-being in 2023, according to a new report from the Military Family Advisory Network. “Our country, our national security, our democracy counts on those who serve,” the group’s 2023 Military Family Support Programming Survey found. “They count on their families, and this report has shown that their well-being—the whole family—and propensity to recommend military service are not mutually exclusive.” #ReadMore: https://loom.ly/kadY5_s #AUSAorg #USArmy #family #milfam #milspouse #militaryfamilies #militaryservice #support #familysupport #member #advisory
