What concerns older adults the most about health care? It's the (lack of) affordability. A recent study reveals that tens of millions of seniors are deeply worried about the rising costs of health care, alongside expenses for housing, food, and other essentials. In fact, 1/3 of seniors 65 and older have reported difficulty paying for critical care. ACHP members are laser-focused on providing affordable, high-quality coverage to their communities, coverage that bridges economic, educational and cultural divides.

David Fields, CEO of ACHP CAP member Navitus Health Solutions, on CNBC this afternoon: “PBMs operate much like a casino: they set the odds, they set the rules, and it’s virtually impossible for a customer to reap the benefits because the traditional PBM steps in and takes part of that.” We couldn’t agree more. Fee-based, transparent PBMs pass rebates onto the consumer, offering predictability. Read more about our recommendations for reforming this broken system: https://lnkd.in/gMip2u4A

Nonprofit plans are high performers in Medicare Advantage coverage and could take a hit if the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services moves forward with the “hold harmless” policy. But Michael Bagel doesn’t see it happening immediately, even after recent news of reworked 2024 star ratings: “I do not believe that CMS is a tit-for-tat agency in how they do rulemaking.” Thanks, Nona Tepper, for the coverage.
