About us
The Mission of the Adirondack Council is to ensure the ecological integrity and wild character of the Adirondack Park for current and future generations. We envision an Adirondack Park with clean water and air and large wilderness areas, surrounded by working farms and forests and vibrant local communities. To achieve our vision for the Park, we educate the public and policymakers; advocate for regulations, policies and funding to benefit the Park's environment and communities; monitor proposals, legislation and policies impacting the Park; and, take legal action to uphold constitutional protections and agency policies established to protect the Adirondack Park.

In 1894, delegates to a constitutional convention in New York created what, 130 years later, is still one of the most important and enduring conservation ideals ever enshrined. We are still benefiting from that simple, two sentence clause today. https://lnkd.in/dBWGpxvE

What we hope to achieve as a team: With your help, the Adirondack Council will build a content library including digital images, video and oral histories to support our 50th anniversary celebration in 2025. This is an exciting opportunity to hear first-hand how strong partnerships, collaboration with elected and appointed government officials, and citizen participation help fuel advocacy benefitting the environment and communities of the Adirondack Park. Through creativity and an entrepreneurial spirit, and with guidance from communications leads, you will help bring Adirondack Council storytellers to life with a forward-spin, considering how our past has prepared the Council for the next 50 years. Due to the nature of this work, some travel will be required, and a significant amount of time will be spent outside of the office interacting with a wide range of people. We are looking for someone creative and disciplined to help develop the stories that will be told in 2025 to celebrate 50 years of Adirondack conservation and advocacy. https://lnkd.in/gKkApfUR
