In physical therapy, flexibility carries many definitions. 🤸♂️ On the surface, flexibility is how well muscles and joints can move through unrestricted, comfortable ranges of motion. But it goes deeper than that. As clinicians, we must be flexible with our therapeutic approach, constantly assessing applications and outcomes. We may need to progress, regress, or focus more on pain modulation in any given session. We have even expanded to Saturday hours at select locations to further accommodate and serve the needs of our community. We also see how flexible our patients can be. There is flexibility in scheduling around other commitments to participate in skilled therapy sessions. There is flexibility in stepping outside of a comfort zone to reach the next level of wellbeing. And there is definitely flexibility in the team approach, communicating with your clinician throughout the healing process to ensure your goals are our focus. Flexibility is more than a key component in objective measurements; it’s a fundamental prerequisite to unlock your full potential.
