One of the key moments of my career was the launch of a very important website. I was responsible for managing a team including several professionals such as webmasters, editors and a UX UI specialist. At one point I have realised that the UX UI expert was not 100% understanding the rationale of our project. This was slowing down our project. At the beginning I hesitated, but then I realised that waiting would have jeopardised the entire project. I took the hard decision to replace this person with another expert. It wasn't easy at all, but then I realised that it was the right decision for the team and for the project. It's nobody fault. It just that UX UI is paramount and should never be neglected.

In Italian we say: better is the enemy of good. My advice is to keep stuff simple and user-friendly as much as possible. It is useless to publish hundreds of new articles if the content is not showcased and retrievable easily by the the reader. Maybe you recall the time when everybody wanted to use Flash for their wesbsites. An incredible waste of time and money for everyone, and eventually nobody's band was broad enough to load it!
