Parallelly, do a quick root cause analysis investigation to find out reasons as to why the team is struggling. For e.g. is it regular or a one-off situation and fix the issue aptly. Also, applying QbD, Agile or Scrum techniques during the product development brings high productivity gains.

It worked, the team was large and spread across multiple locations. I feel this encourages more ownership in the process and less negative conversations and more thoughtful ones with your team.

Remote teams are now a fundamental part of our work and present different challenges for managers. If the team is new, or you've taken on board an existing team, meet them all face-to-face as quickly as you can. Organize an all day at a mutually convenient location and get everyone together. Don't overthink it, just use it to build rapport and create space for the team to get to know each other too.

There will always be some periods of the project which are challenging and difficult, this is normal! If you sense the team are struggling ask them if they are feeling one or more of the 3F's: -Frustration - is the work annoying or frustrating? -Fear - are you unsure about what you're doing? -Fatigue - are you feeling tired or burned out? If they have one or more of these symptoms then as a manager, you can do something about it and help them get back into the right mindset.
