As a professional one must assess the impact level of the situations that are going to impact in both ways organisation and community. Set up your team and use the resources in the defined matrix based on the urgency and importance and develop the communication channel in the same way.Engage the stakeholders also so that the efforts must be sensitised based on importance and urgency.Prioritising tasks and engaging stakeholders along with law authorities will build up the trust among the community as well as your organisation leadership in a way to business continuity.

Yes absolutely, if one is having the responsibility of emergency and disaster management then one must be proactive and must establish the response plans accordingly. Maintain your preparedness proactively by conducting mock drills and finding observations that need to be rectified for the future plan. Conduct audit of your emergency plan that includes your cross functional team, communication, available resources and based on the result submit the report of the essential requirements to the management which will strengthen your plan and will build up the trust among the leadership. Awareness of the past incidents and its mitigation plan and also learn from the crisis of other organisations and include the learning in your proactive plan.
