To me, failure is not an option for someone to grow is really a must. By failing , we learn and we grow, we need to find a barrier in the journey and we need to fail in trying to overcome. But we have to learn the lesson of failing asap and make sure we do not make the same mistake twice . This is not only for the success in the professional life but also and mainly in the personal one

In order to grow from failure, it is important to see feedback whether good or bad as an opportunity to grow rather than criticism. As professional you need to learn to be able to accept honest feedback and give it as well. Self reflection on the feedback is of utmost importance.

Failures should be treated as learning. In my opinion no major breakthroughs have ever happened without Failures. Failures and successes are part of the process where someone tries something new.

There are a few steps we need to go through in order to embrace failure: acknowledge failure; analyze failure; reset direction, leave failure behind and move on. I would say acknowledging failure is hard and resetting direction is also hard. Acknowledging failure hurts ones pride. Resetting direction not only takes strength to gain confidence back and also could be challenging without new knowledge or new information. Self care and being resilient is key. Feedback, encouragement and supports from friend, family and mentors are equally important. Reaching out and talking to others could help you discover yourself a bit more, regain confidence, think from different perspective and get ready to take on new challenges.

One valuable lesson I've learned is knowing when & how to be proactive and seek feedback from the right people. I've summarized 3 main points I see as a must for your feedback to be truly constructive rather than destructive: 1-Be ready to be honest and accept accountability: approach feedback with a willingness to truly reflect back and take responsibility for your actions. 2-Prepare to change and take action: feedback is nothing if you're not ready to use it to better yourself. Embrace the opportunity to make positive changes based on the insights you receive. 3-Don’t take it personally: understand that feedback is meant to help you improve, not to criticize you as a person. Keep an open mind, and use the feedback to your advantage.

It also provides essential support and encouragement as you reflect on the events. No one can be liked by everyone. As a manager or leader, delivering results is far more important than being liked. In that case, criticism is inevitable, regardless of your performance. Take criticism seriously, but don’t let it erode your self-confidence. Just as you might seek a second opinion after receiving a new diagnosis from a doctor, seek input from someone you trust—such as a mentor, peer, or senior team member. If the criticism is common, address it promptly. If it’s an outlier, manage the situation: try to influence the critic to change their opinion or ensure it doesn’t harm the business. Utilize allies to help influence opinions if possible; it doesn’t always have to be you.

Do not be in a hurry to react or the urge to keep aside the criticism. Zoom out, observe and reflect - is there a message or a pattern which I am trying to avoid because it does not resonates with my belief system. We must question ourselves - Am i carrying certain self limiting belief ? Am I in a self denial mode ? I feel these small little internal conversation can guide to a new pathway.

It’s not easy giving critical/ constructive feedback- you run the risk of damaging relationships both personal or professional. However, sifting through the emotional responses from factual examples, provides evidence of where something didn’t work. So now… it’s up to you to do something different, be agile and flexible.

When considering goals I find it helpful to set short vs long terms goals. Remembering that not everything is within your control, so goals must align to what you aim to achieve and can control. It is good to have aspirations and those can form part of rather the long term goals then short.

Setting new goals is a crucial step after identifying areas for improvement. With a clearer understanding of what went wrong and how to enhance your skills, establish specific, measurable, and time-bound objectives. This approach ensures you can track your progress effectively. Goals provide direction and motivation, transforming the abstract idea of "doing better" into a concrete action plan. By setting these new targets, you're not merely avoiding past mistakes but actively striving towards a more successful and fulfilling professional future.

Employers don't view failures or mistakes as a deal-breaking flaw. Often, they want to see if an employee is self-aware enough to admit they made a mistake, and they want to see that the worker wants to improve this behaviour going forward. Usling learning as the foundation to make changes going forward, is a great way to overcome what might seem like a failure in the workplace.

To take an action to make changes is a huge and commendable effort. This means there is a shift of mindset to accept others constructive feedback and make that intentional change to become a better version of ourselves. This is a great step forward and continue to take baby steps to work on the next change and you will see the positive impact that you will make to the people who work closely with you. It’s a win-win situation.

Yes! Don't just cry over the failure, pick up the lessons and act upon them. If not, you'd fail again and again until you humble yourself to do the right thing.

If we want to move forward and achieve our goals as a business, honest feedback is to me key. I seek to deliver feedback in a caring way, while being as simple and concrete as possible, so that actions can be taken. When receiving feedback, I listen carefully and ask clarifying questions, so that I can go do. We should grow everyday to be prepared for tomorrows challenges.

Most challenging aspect is continuity and sustainability to form it as a habit. Journaling can aid in reflection a lot. It can also aid in unburdening associated feelings too.

Self assessment is a necessity and not an option. It’s your time to be open and honest with yourself on not only the goals you have set and achieved but your actions in general. Reflect on your interactions and relationships with others in the work space. The impact you have made to those around you. You need to be able to hold yourself accountable for things you have done and should have done.

Experience is another way to learn and grow. Be it out own or someone else's experience, when we go through something or see someone experience something we learn and we build on it. When someone tells us or we witness someone's experience it's like a demo version being played for us. Now, what we learn and how we utilize it is what sets us apart.
