No, I was not a computer science student, I was studying engineering instead. No, I was not building websites in college, I was learning thermodynamics instead. And no, I did not have a Github account nor was I coding every week or so. However, I did learn C programming in my engineering course and one thing I did right was to learn it thoroughly. And when I say thoroughly, I meant learning what a character is, how do you splice an array, what a pointer is, how do you use if and while loops etc. It has little to do with web development (the field in which my career is now), but I am not lying when I say it was those moments that helped defined my basics in programming and undeniably be the most vital stepping stone in my software endeavour.
