Here's how you can maintain focus and avoid distractions in the Financial Technology field.

Speaking from my own experience, you should begin by categorizing tasks based on their urgency and importance, ensuring that critical activities take precedence. Implement a robust task management system to organize and track your responsibilities effectively, preventing distractions from less pressing matters. By focusing on high-priority tasks first, you can allocate your time and energy efficiently, driving productivity and achieving optimal outcomes. Prioritization not only enhances task completion but also fosters a sense of control and clarity in managing workload demands, enabling you to navigate the complexities of FinTech with precision and effectiveness.

Fintech stands for innovation, but is also quite overcrowded. What's important in my experience: 1. You cannot be a solution looking for a problem 2. If you're indeed solving a problem - think about how you're doing it better, cheaper, faster or more efficient than competition 3. Keep the regulatory guidelines & compliance of partners (banks, consumer-tech platforms etc.,) in mind - especially about data privacy/security, cyber security in mind 4. Is the use experience improved? Keeping it simple for the users is the bedrock of B2C Fintech success. 5. Finally - what's the business model? Especially unit economics? If this is not thought through it's simply not sustainable no matter how bleeding edge or cutting edge the innovation is!

Manage time effectively using techniques such as the Pomodoro Technique and leverage productivity tools like Todoist or Asana. Avoid multitasking to ensure quality and limit information overload by filtering relevant industry updates. Take regular breaks, practice mindfulness, and set boundaries to optimize productivity in this fast-paced field.

Priorities should not be like bubbles in a boiling pot. They have to have substance and overall benefit statement. If a priority does not have a measurable benefit, it is not a priority but a wish.

From my experience on my previous work and now my own company, I believe that eliminating clutter and establishing an organized workspace is crucial for enhancing concentration and attention to detail. Whether in an office or home setting, strive for a quiet and distraction-free environment conducive to deep work. Consider investing in noise-canceling headphones or utilizing white noise apps to minimize disruptions and foster a focused atmosphere. A well-maintained desk setup with minimal distractions can promote mental clarity and readiness for tackling intricate tasks in FinTech.

No only for an individual, in Fintech we need an environment where tech and functional, we need to create a collaboration framework and not tools for isolation. We had phone booths and small meeting rooms for the teams to have private conversations. The floor was mostly open plan with many noise suppression additions but also allowing cross desk conversation.

Many do not realize, Fintech's today don't allow access to Video, Social Media and Forums. There are multifold reasons. However, there is study that points that productivity per day hovers between 50 to 65% of the number of hours being spent on work. What is needed is to enhance the tools and mechanics to enhance the productive time. As an example: We taught developers to Stop looking at emails and disable chat pop-ups when they needed to work on something that needed undivided attention.

We invited speakers to come in and talk about their journeys. They would explain how technology, research and engagement contributed to their journey at their level and share the unique perspective.

The rule for Fintech is safety and hence we we followed the principle that stated, if it is not a critical security bug, we will always be latest version -1 iteration. Be safe and not the first one to experiment until absolutely necessary.
