For an engineer, especially a mechanical, aeronautical engineer there is no real limit for retiring. My idol Harry Hillaker who was one of the design engineer of F-16 Fighter Aircraft was working for Lockheed Martin as a consultant when he was 85 years old. With respect to your mental and body health you can work till very last years with precious experience in your carrier. Definitely 60 to 75 years old engineers got premium level of knowledge.
