Your assistant can keep you on schedule throughout the day

  • Add alarms in the Alexa app by going to More > Alarms & Timers > Alarms > Add Alarm.

Amazon's digital assistant Alexa has a handy alarm feature that can remind you when it's time to wake up, walk the dog, or anything else. Here's how to set an alarm with the Alexa app or by using voice commands on Alexa-enabled devices, including the Echo Dot and Echo Show.

Create an Alexa Alarm With Voice Commands

You can set up a variety of alarms to accommodate your schedule and events. Alarms can include music and smart lights as well. You can set an Alexa alarm using the following voice commands:

  • Alexa, set an alarm for midnight.
  • Alexa, set a repeating alarm for 7 a.m.
  • Alexa, set an alarm for 7 p.m. every Wednesday.
  • Alexa, set an alarm for 6 a.m. every day.
  • Alexa, set an alarm for 6 a.m. to Taylor Swift from Spotify.
  • Alexa, set an alarm for 6 a.m. to classical music every day.
  • Alexa, set a light alarm for 5 p.m. with smart home lighting device every day.

To stop an alarm, say Alexa, stop or Alexa, cancel. To snooze an alarm, say Alexa, snooze to silence the alarm for nine minutes.

Alarms are tied to one device, so if you set up an alarm with an Echo in your bedroom, it won't sound on the Echo in your kitchen.
