How to Craft a Brewing Stand in Minecraft

Before you can craft a Brewing Stand, you need to make a Crafting Table and collect the necessary materials.

1. Craft 4 Wood Planks. Place a block of Wood in the 2X2 crafting grid. Any wood will do (Oak Wood, Jungle Wood, etc.).

   

2. Make a Crafting Table. Put Planks of the same type of wood in each box of the 2X2 crafting grid.

   

3. Obtain 1 Blaze Rod by defeating Blazes. They can be found in Nether Fortresses.

   

   You need a Blaze Powder to activate your brewing stand, which can be crafted with a Blaze Rod, so you might as well collect a couple.

4. Mine 3 Cobbles Stones or Blackstones.

   

5. Place the Crafting Table on the ground and open it to access the 3X3 crafting grid. How you do this depends on the platform you're playing on:

   • PC: Right-click
   • Mobile: Single-tap
   • Xbox: Press LT
   • PlayStation: Press L2
   • Nintendo: Press ZL

   

   Remember where you place your Crafting Table so that you can use it later to make more items.

6. Craft a Brewing Stand. Put 1 Blaze Rod to the middle of the top row and 3 Cobblestones or Blackstones in the middle row.

   

7. Place the Brewing Stand on the ground and open it to access the brewing menu.

Once you have a Crafting Table, you need the following materials to make a Brewing Stand:

• 1 Blaze Rod
• 3 Cobbles Stones or Blackstones (You can mix and match)

What Can You Do With a Brewing Stand?

Brewing stands in Minecraft are used to make potions. Some potions grant players status bonuses like the Potion of Health and Potion of Strength. Others have harmful effects, like the Potion of Poison. Several potions require multiple ingredients, which you must add one-at-a-time in the correct order.

How to Brew Potions in Minecraft

Every potion has its own recipe, but the brewing process is essentially always the same.

1. Put 1 Blaze Powder in the upper-left corner of the brewing menu.

   

2. Put Water Bottles in the bottom boxes of the brewing menu. You can make up to three potions at once.

   

3. Put your ingredient in the top box of the brewing menu.

   

4. When the progress bar is full, the bottle(s) will contain your potion. Add it to your inventory, or add more ingredients to brew another potion.
