How to Add Widgets on a Samsung Phone or Tablet
There are lots of awesome Android widgets available, but for this demonstration I'll cover how to get a calendar widget that counts down to an event.
Not all widgets work the same way; some have more options than others. However, these first few steps are the same for all widgets.
-
Tap-and-hold an empty area of the Home screen, then choose Widgets at the bottom of the screen.
-
Select Calendar.
-
Touch-and-hold Countdown.
-
Drag-and-drop the widget where you want it to appear on your screen.
-
Select the event in your calendar that you want to count down to.
-
Choose the Background color and Background transparency, then select the left arrow (<) next to Widget settings in the top-left corner.
Rearrange widgets by touching and dragging them around the screen in the same way you can move apps around. To delete a widget, touch-and-hold it, then choose Remove from Home or Remove from the pop-up menu.
