Leticia Ordaz

Anchor/Reporter

Leticia Ordaz is an Emmy-nominated anchor/reporter. She’s covered some of the biggest stories in the country. Leticia joined KCRA 3 in 2003 as a general assignment reporter. She anchors weekend mornings on KCRA 3 and reports weekday mornings on KCRA 3 and My58.

Leticia grew up in Northern California. She’s a graduate of Galt High School and California State University, Sacramento. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications with a minor in government. She interned at KCRA 3 while attending CSUS.

Before coming to KCRA 3, Leticia was at KMPH in Fresno, where she worked as a reporter.

Leticia started her broadcast career in the small town of Elko, Nevada, where she was the morning anchor/reporter for KENV. She has also worked in Bakersfield as a general assignment reporter for KGET.

When she is not covering news stories, she is busy promoting literacy by teaming up with schools and non-profits to read to students and young hospital patients. Leticia is an award-winning author at the International Latino Book Awards, the largest Latino Book Awards in the world. As a mother of two young boys, she is excited to share diverse stories with children everywhere. Leticia hopes to break barriers and change statistics that currently show only 5% of American children’s books feature Latinx characters or subjects, and there are only 5% Latinx authors and illustrators published in the U.S.

She is a member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists, the San Francisco/Northern California Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, and the International Society of Latino Authors (ISLA). Leticia is fluent in Spanish.
