Tamara Berg

Meteorologist

Tamara Berg joined the KCRA 3 weather team in December of 2011 after three years forecasting at KION-TV in Salinas. Born and raised in Cleveland, Tamara is happy to call Northern California her new home.

While at KION, Tamara tracked just about every type of weather condition. She also reported on mudslides, wildfires, earthquakes and the tsunami that swept across the shores of Santa Cruz in March 2011.

Tamara started her career in Toledo, Ohio, as a weekend weathercaster and weekday general assignment reporter. While in Toledo, Tamara covered extreme snowfall events, chased summer thunderstorms and river flooding.

Tamara holds a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism from Baldwin-Wallace University and a B.S. in Meteorology from Mississippi State University. Tamara is also a member of the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association.

In her spare time, Tamara loves to be outdoors. She’s run a dozen marathons and completed one ultramarathon (30+ miles). She’s finished Big Sur Marathon four times, CIM three times and made it through Way Too Cool 50K. If something spells adventure and challenge, you can expect Tamara to participate. Her outdoor adventures also include hiking, biking, kayaking and snowboarding.

Tamara also volunteers her time with several organizations. She’s involved with Girls on the Run of Sacramento as a coach for 3rd-5th graders. She also helps emcee events for the American Heart Association, Keaton’s Child Cancer Alliance, and All About Equine.

She met her husband while in Sacramento and they welcomed their first child in November of 2020. You can find Tamara and her family soaking up the summer sunshine by the river and enjoying all Tahoe has to offer in the winter!
