LET’S GET RIGHT TO SPORTS REPORTER MICHELLE DAPPER, WHO JOINS US VIA PHONE. MICHELLE, WHAT IS YOUR INSTANT REACTION TO HEARING THIS NEWS? DROP THIS MORNING? YOU KNOW, WE’VE BEEN EXPECTING THIS NEWS FOR FOR QUITE, YOU KNOW, AT LEAST FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS NOW. WE GOT WORD YOU KNOW, WE’VE BEEN FOLLOWING THIS STORY OF OF COURSE. UM, IT’S IT’S IT’S INTERESTING. I MEAN, YOU KNOW, ESPECIALLY GOING TO OPENING DAY WITH THE A’S FANS, THE A’S FANS NOT REALLY HAPPY THAT THEY’RE COMING TO SACRAMENTO. SO THEY FEEL THAT SACRAMENTO IS HELPING OUT LAS VEGAS AND JEFF FISHER THAT FOR THAT THAT JOHN FISHER TO MOVE TO LAS VEGAS. BUT HEY THIS IS A BIG WIN FOR SACRAMENTO. SO AS AS A WHOLE WITH THE ECONOMY AND WHATNOT. AND IT’S A CHANCE ALSO FOR SACRAMENTO TO AUDITION FOR AN MLB TEAM. YOU KNOW IF YOU IF YOU DO END UP PACKING UP THOSE SEATS FOR THE NEXT THREE OR POSSIBLY FOUR YEARS, HEY. IT PUTS IT, PUTS SACRAMENTO ON THE MAP AND PUTS THEM ON THE RADAR FOR, YOU KNOW, A POSSIBLE MLB TEAM. AND AGAIN, I KNOW THAT THE DETAILS ARE STILL WAITING TO UNFOLD. DO WE KNOW YET OR UNDERSTAND HOW THE ATHLETICS AND THE RIVERCATS MIGHT END UP SHARING? OR WILL ONE TEAM PLAY AT SUTTER HEALTH PARK AND THE OTHER TEAM HAVE TO FIND ANOTHER VENUE? IS IT IS IT TOO EARLY TO TO START DEBATING OR THINKING ABOUT THAT? WE HAVE THE CHIP. MAXON, THE PRESIDENT OF THE RIVERCATS LAST WEEK ABOUT THAT DURING MEDIA DAY. AND HE SAYS THEY HAVE EVERY INTENTION OF SHARING THE BALLPARK. AGAIN, THE RIVERCATS ARE ON A CONTRACT WITH THE GIANTS UNTIL 2030. SO THEY HAVE TO, YOU KNOW, THEY HAVE TO HONOR THAT CONTRACT. SO THEY PLAN ON SHARING THIS BALLPARK. THAT’S KIND OF I FEEL SORRY FOR THE SCHEDULER WHO’S GOING TO HAVE TO SIT THERE AND FIGURE THAT OUT. BUT YEAH, THEY EVERY INTENTION OF BOTH TEAMS PLAYING AT SUTTER HEALTH PARK. SO LOTS OF BASEBALL FOR SACRAMENTO STARTING NEXT SUMMER. THAT IS GOING TO JUST BE AN AMAZING ATMOSPHERE FOR SURE. MICHELLE. SO REAL QUICK. UH BRIAN HICKEY. AND I ACTUALLY WENT TO THE ATHLETICS GAME WHEN THEY WERE HOSTING THE RED SOX. JUST YESTERDAY. AND OF COURSE, YOU FIRST THING YOU NOTICE IS JUST HOW EMPTY THE STADIUM IS. EMPTY, YOU SEE, JUST ENDLESS GREEN SEATS OUT THERE. I GOT TO IMAGINE AND AGAIN, YOU CAN SPEAK TO THIS DEFINITELY BETTER THAN I CAN. THE THE AMOUNT OF FANS AND JUST BASEBALL FANS AND ATHLETICS FANS IN OUR REGION. I GOT TO IMAGINE THEY’RE GOING TO FILL THAT STADIUM, THAT PARK, SUTTER HEALTH PARK, I HOPE SO. I MEAN, THIS IS, YOU KNOW, THREE MORE YEARS THAT YOU’RE GOING TO SEE THE ATHLETICS. IT JUST GOES DEEPER THAN THAT, THOUGH. SOMETIMES FOR A FAN IS ARE THEY GOING TO SUPPORT THIS OWNERSHIP GROUP OR CONTINUE TO SUPPORT THIS OWNERSHIP GROUP. SO I DO HOPE THEY, YOU KNOW, MAYBE THINK OF THE TEAM AT THIS TIME AND THINK, HEY, LET’S SEND THEM OFF. YOU KNOW, IT’S VERY IT’S A VERY CONFLICTED I DON’T KNOW AS A, YOU KNOW, BASEBALL FAN MYSELF I, IT’S HARD FOR, FOR, FOR FOR FANS, I GUESS TO, UH, YOU KNOW, SEE THE I DON’T KNOW, IT’S VERY, VERY TOUCHY FOR MOST FANS AND AGAIN COVER IT FROM OPENING DAY. VERY, VERY EMOTIONAL. I MEAN THEY’RE RIPPING THIS TEAM AWAY FROM THESE FAMILIES AND THESE MEMORIES AND THESE TRADITIONS AND IT IS VERY IT IS HEARTBREAKING. AND I KNOW WE’RE TALKING ABOUT SPORTS, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, SPORTS, YOU KNOW, MEANS SO MUCH TO SO MANY. ABSOLUTELY. AND ON THE OTHER SIDE, HEY, YOU CAN ALREADY GO ON TO THE A’S WEBSITE AND GET TICKETS AND INQUIRE ABOUT SEASON TICKETS. YEAH, THAT THAT LINK IS ALREADY UP ON THE A’S WEBSITE. SO THAT’S AS OF THIS MORNING. WOW. ALL RIGHT. SO THINGS, UH, AGAIN MOVING VERY QUICKLY. I KNOW THAT YOU’RE GOING TO LEARN MORE THIS MORNING OR WE ALL WILL.
