IN THE COUNTRY. GO. THERE. WHETHER THEY WARMED UP WITH A DANCE OR HIT THE PAVEMENT COLD TURKEY, THE TURKEY THAT STOLE THANKSGIVING, IT IS ABSOLUTELY AWESOME. THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE GOBBLED UP THE PAVEMENT FOR RUN TO FEED THE HUNGRY THIS MORNING. TO ONE FROM LAS VEGAS TO LOS ANGELES. FOLKS CAME FROM OUTSIDE THE SACRAMENTO METRO AREA FOR THIS ANNUAL TRADITION. EACH PERSON BRINGING THEIR OWN STRATEGY. WE STAYED TOGETHER AND JUST ENJOY THE COURSE, ENJOY THE PEOPLE. NO TURKEY LEFT BEHIND, GET OTHER IDEAS FOR NEXT YEAR. AND FOR ONE DESPERATE MOMENT, THEY RUN TO FEED THE HUNGRY AS THE LARGEST TURKEY TROT THERE IS. AND SPEAKING OF BIRDS, OUR VERY OWN LIVECOPTER3 PROVIDING A UNIQUE PERSPECTIVE OF THE MORE THAN 31,100 RACE PARTICIPANTS AND FOLKS WERE PUMPED. 30,000 PEOPLE. YEAH, WE LOVE TO SUPPORT RUN TO FEED THE HUNGRY. FOOD INSECURITY IS A BIG ISSUE IN CALIFORNIA, SO IT’S GREAT THAT WE’RE ABLE TO GIVE BACK AND WHAT WE CAN DO IT WITH FRIENDS, IT’S EVEN BETTER. WE HAVE SO MUCH TO BE GRATEFUL FOR. WE HAVE BEAUTIFUL, HEALTHY CHILDREN, BEAUTIFUL FAMILIES, FOOD ON OUR PLATES, AND WE JUST WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT WE’RE GIVING BACK AND REMEMBERING WHAT THANKSGIVING IS ALL ABOUT. NO MATTER WHAT EACH RUNNER OR WALKERS REASON FOR PARTICIPATING, IT’S A RUN THAT’S GOOD FOR THE BODY AND SOUL. THE RUN RAISES MONEY FOR THE SACRAMENTO FOOD BANK AND FAMILY SERVICES. JENNIFER HARTMAN. Run to Feed the Hungry is the biggest fundraiser for Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services. Organizers say it’s the largest Thanksgiving Day fun run in the country. The Nov. 23 event for 2023 was either a 5K or 10K run or walk. On Monday, Nov. 20, law enforcement agencies said that Sacramento police and the FBI were investigating a bomb threat that referenced this year's event. The FBI said in an update Wednesday that it doubted the credibility of the threat and called for the public to be still vigilant and report any concerns to event security. The Sacramento Police Department said it implemented enhanced safety measures and security for the event. Registration from Nov. 17 to 22: $45 for adults and $25 for people 17 and under.

Race day registration on Nov. 23: $48 for adults and $28 for people 17 and under.
