Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison (Indosat or IOH), through Indosat Business and its subsidiary Lintasarta, introduced several AI solutions to support the achievement of upstream oil and gas targets in Indonesia. The company participated in the Technology Information Work Meeting (Raker TI) of the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) with the SKK Migas – KKKS Contractors in Bali, which was attended by oil and gas companies and around 70 upstream oil and gas KKKS companies.

“The utilisation of technological innovation is crucial to remain at the forefront of the dynamic oil and gas sector. This event is an important moment for Indosat Business to introduce cutting-edge AI solutions to industry players in the oil and gas sector,” Muhammad Buldansyah, director and chief business officer of Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison, said. “With a spirit of collaboration and mutual cooperation among industry players, Indosat Business is ready to be a technology partner for a cleaner, more efficient, and competitive oil and gas sector.”

Indosat Business showcased several AI-based technology solutions, including:

  • High-resolution seismic through AI technology: Facilitates exploration methods based on high-resolution seismic (sound) wave measurements with AI technology. This solution can address the limitations of low-resolution seismic data and, with careful planning for each well, can increase production by up to 10%.
  • Connected workers through AI: Connects workers to enhance quality and productivity by up to 10%, improve production quality, and reduce manual errors by up to 15%. This solution also monitors safety compliance and emergency response levels.
  • Indosat condition-based monitoring and predictive maintenance: Addresses critical equipment maintenance failures, reducing maintenance damage by up to 20% and increasing productivity by 8-10%.
  • Indosat AI cloud: AI-based Legal Contract Analysis: Reviews complex legal contracts with high financial risk and extensive regulatory considerations, reducing external legal advisor costs by up to 50% and saving up to 90% time in contract review.
  • Indosat intelligent surveillance: Addresses the high accident rates in the oil and gas sector, reducing the potential for fatal injuries by 95%, fires and explosions by 90%, and being 70% more cost-efficient compared to manual monitoring.
  • Lintasarta Cloudeka Deka GPU Infra: Provides GPU-ready, high-density data centre solutions, GPU Cloud Infrastructure in Indonesia, with Capex and Opex cost efficiency and flexible, scalable payment models.

Buldansyah added “Indosat Business solutions are designed with optimal resource allocation, environmental impact reduction, and production maximization in mind. The goal is to reshape the oil and gas industry by leveraging AI technology to make it more resilient, adaptable, and sustainable in the future. This aligns with Indosat’s broader mission to empower Indonesia.”

Last month, Indosat and Google Cloud announced the expansion of their long-term strategic alliance, aimed at accelerating Indosat’s transformation from telco to AI Native TechCo. The collaboration will combine Indosat’s network, operational, and customer datasets with Google Cloud’s unified AI stack to deliver exceptional experiences to over 100 million Indosat customers and enterprise-grade AI and generative AI (GenAI) solutions for businesses across Indonesia.
