Peter views his work at Investopedia as an extension of his lifelong role as an educator, whether as a professor, consultant, scholar, writer, or editor. He possesses a knack for demystifying complex topics without losing nuance. Peter began his career as a New York-based risk manager. He later joined Multex, Inc. (now part of Reuters), diversifying his writing and editing portfolio to cover investments, ethics, law, public policy, and the health and travel industries for the last 20 years.

A professor in southeastern Louisiana, he is an internationally recognized scholar with a bachelor’s in political science and philosophy. He also holds a master’s in public policy from SUNY Stony Brook and a doctorate from DePaul University.
