Are Capital One Bank Bonuses Worth It?

Capital One doesn't currently offer any bank account bonuses, but its expired offer—$300 to $1,500, depending on deposit amount—provided an average return. You had to deposit $20,000 to earn $300, or $100,000 to earn $1,500. That would have given you a return on deposit of 1.5% in each case.

That's close to the 1.6% median return on deposit among personal savings account promotions we track, so you could have been confident that you weren't missing out on much of a bonus. The median return for savings account bonuses, however, is much lower than the median of about 18% among personal checking account bonuses we track.

Capital One's 360 Performance Savings account generally offers a relatively high interest rate, compared to average national rates, but you can likely find a better offer among the best high-yield savings accounts. The 360 Performance Savings account is available nationwide.
