Research project planning requires a flexible approach to adapt to early research outcomes. Agile project management techniques can be applied to manage executing deliverables in an incremental manner. This course allows students to apply the agile project management approach to break down their project into manageable tasks, analyse and prioritise deliverables, and successfully complete their project on time.

Course Information

As part of this course you will need to have a research project. The course will probably not suit students from the Department of Computing who already have Agile technology in place to support their project development.

This course requires you to watch a video and complete all the activities before the live course.  In the live session, we will discuss the usefulness of the Agile approach in managing your research project and respond to any questions.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this course you will be able to:

  • Recognise key components in Agile project management
  • Apply the Work Breakdown Structure method to plan your research project
  • Analyse and prioritise deliverables using the MoSCoW method
  • Use the Agile approach to review and complete tasks on time
