Simply wonderful.
With this book, they set out to provide a "convention in book form".
And in my eyes, they succeeded.
This book is full of great artworks and pictures, and consists of many interviews with everybody involved. They interviewed basically everyone they could get their hands on, actors, producers, designers, make-up artists...
There are even several pages just dedicated to the practical jokes the male cast members played on each other and the rest of the cast.
Yes, many stories are known from the conventions and I myself heard many of them before, but that just makes me more nostalgic when thinking back to the good times at the conventions (and of the chats I had with the actors!).
This might very well be the best book about the Voyager series ever published, and it is certainly the best Star Trek book I have currently in my collection. It is pure joy.
It also does not shy away from some more unpleasant facts like the mental health crisis of Jennifer Lien.
If you are a Voyager fan, this is a must have, and if you are a Trekkie, but maybe not the biggest fan of Voyager, you might still like this.
For me, this brought back my youth and I am right now re-watching the series (after 15 years)- it is like meeting old friends after a very long time.
Added nostalgia bonus which helps me getting through the current difficult time of global crisis.
Totally worth it.

A fantastic look into the making of Star Trek: Voyager, this book was filled with far more detail than I expected when I first picked it up! From the design of the sets and props, to the makeup and costume work, to the creation of each character on the show, there were so many wonderful sketches and photos and anecdotes from the cast and crew of Voyager included in each chapter. It was surprising hearing just how involved many of the actors were in bringing their characters to life, even from the very beginning, and I have so much respect and admiration for them after hearing how much of themselves they gave to this show. I also never realized just how much the crew of Voyager really pioneered a lot of the CGI that would become commonplace in tv shows in the future. Using it for a movie during that time was one thing, but creating an entire CGI race for a tv show was pretty much unheard of at the time!

This book was not only a great refresher for many of the episodes and concepts introduced in Voyager, but also a wonderful look into the creation of one of my favorite series. I have so much respect and admiration for the people who devoted 7 years of their lives to this show, and this book did a fantastic job of highlighting their dedication and passion!

I was shocked by how much new information was in this book. They went through and interviewed just about everyone from the show, in all departments, and provided insights to every single detail from ship design, to makeup, to little personal stories. I did not expect such a thorough, in-depth look at what it took to create such a ground breaking series. Most impressively, I did not realize how much many of the actors contributed to their roles, and how dedicated they were through seriously grueling work days for years on end. This is absolutely worth the read, and may very well change your perspective on which Star Trek series was the best.

Just finished reading “Star Trek: Voyager: A Celebration” (2020, from Eaglemoss/Hero Collector Books; writers credited as by Ben Robinson and Mark Wright, with additional material by William Potter and Matt McAllister). Released in conjunction with (and “celebrating”) the twenty-fifth anniversary of the premiere of the television series on January 16, 1995.

One the best book ever released specifically about “Star Trek: Voyager”. (There have been at least two previously released books—from while the tv series was still in production and had just completed its run—that are also quite good: “Star Trek: Voyager: A Vision of the Future” by Stephen Edward Poe (1998), and the “Star Trek: Voyager Companion” by Paul Ruditis (2003)).

“Star Trek: Voyager: A Celebration” includes newly conducted interviews with all of the primary cast of actors (with the exception of Jennifer Lien who played Kes the first three seasons; Lien no longer does interviews, although the book does include archival interview quotes from Lien and comments from her co-stars on their experiences working with her on the series.)

The book also gives two-page spotlights on key episodes, and articles on the development of the series, its opening titles sequence, important behind the scenes personnel like series co-creators and producers Michael Pillar and Jeri Taylor, the various aliens featured on the series (the Kazon, the Vidiians, the Hirogen, the Borg, and Species 8472), the various departments—art department, VFX (visual effects), the writers and directors, make up department (including details on Neelix’s elaborate alien prosthetics that had to be applied and removed every day), costumes, and musical score composers)—designing the USS Voyager and Delta Flyer shuttle and a gallery of the various alien and other Starfleet vessels seen, and several familiar elements of the series like landing the ship (a first for a Starfleet starship on a Star Trek series) and Seven of Nine’s famous silver “catsuit”, and “Captain Proton” holodeck program.

When I first say the announcement that this book was coming, I knew that I would want to read it but at the same time thought to myself, “How interesting could another book on Star Trek: Voyager really be?” It turns out, pretty interesting (if done well).

The next “Celebration” book due out from Eaglemoss is “Star Trek: A Celebration”, about the original 1966-1969 “Star Trek” television series. Again, I’m a bit skeptical as there have been oodles of books written on the original series. Still, perhaps Eaglemoss might be able to surprise me again and give us a different take on an already very well covered subject. We’ll see.

As for “Star Trek: Voyager: A Celebration”, I highly recommend it.

I've been a big fan of Star Trek ever since I started watching all of the shows, and Voyager holds a special place in my heart. This book is a love letter to the cast and crew of Star Trek: Voyager. From behind the scenes tidbits of how the actors enjoyed themselves on set to the various iterations of what the Voyager ship design would be, this book is a wonderful addition to any Star Trek collection you may have.

If you're looking for something a little more uncensored regarding all of the drama, this is not the book. Rather, it's a positive reflection on the hard work that went on to get this show up and running. Once Next Generation and DS9 were done, what other stories could Star Trek offer? Plenty, in fact. Sure, not every episode was necessarily that good, but when they were good there were some very impactful stories. And that's what Voyager did for a whole generation of fans.

A great book to read if you're a fan of Star Trek Voyager!

Star Trek: Voyager needed this book.

A comfortable hybrid between coffee-table/art tome, promotional text, and behind-the-scenes making-of confessional, this volume benefits both from the range of folks interviewed (or at least represented) and the perspective made possible by reflecting back on work done a quarter of a century ago.

I did notice a typo here and there, but despite that this is a splendid addition to the Trek non-fiction canon, full of memorable sketches, quotes, and anecdotes.

A solid revisitation of the series, taking in selected event episodes, cast and crew interviews (in many cases new) and publicity photos. If there is a criticism I'd say it's a bit 'conventional' and a little uninspired - I would've liked to have seen more interesting and offbeat behind the scenes pics, raw model shots, lots more concept art, new photos of the actors, etc. Something with more colour.

This carefully crafted book celebrates Star Trek Voyager. In it, we get detailed descriptions of the characters and how they came to be, as long as interviews with all of the main cast, sans Jennifer Lien. The book is truly a love letter to the show and is one that any fan would enjoy reading!

This was AMAZING! Voyager is my #1 favorite of all the Star Treks & although I know a lot about the show, actors, & characters through years of following it all, there was still so many new tidbits here -- especially about the special effects and the way the actors got along on set & how they approached playing each of their characters. Highly recommend this for any Voyager fan, it's so good!
