"Mom loved to write to my sister and me," H. Jackson Brown writes. "They began when I was an eight-year old camper away from home for the first time. When I opened Mom's letter, I would always read the P.S. first. I just couldn't wait to discover what revelations, humor, observations, admonitions, and encouragement she wanted to share with me."
"No matter how hard you hug your money, it never hugs you back," says one P.S. "Middle age is when you have two choices and you choose the one that gets you home earlier, " says another.
Jack Brown's mother shared valuable advice with him about the issues of wisdom, hope, humor, and faith. "Although some were written more than thirty years ago," Brown says, "they still run with truth and insight."
H. Jackson Brown, Jr. was an American author best-known for his book Life's Little Instruction Book which was a New York Times bestseller. Before becoming famous as a writer, Brown acted as a creative director of an advertising agency in Nashville, Tennessee. It was simple words of wisdom gathered from other people and his own experiences that made him a best-selling author.
Brown first published A Father's Book of Wisdom, which was quickly followed by P.S. I Love You, a collection of sayings and observations from his father and mother. Both were very popular and led to Life's Little Instruction Book, which was originally written as a going-away present for his college-bound son, Adam. This book contained 511 reminders about "how to live a happy and rewarding life" and became a phenomenal best-seller worldwide. It has logged more than two years on the New York Times best-seller list, including more than a year at the number one spot. Life's Little Instruction Book was the first book to ever occupy the number one spot on the New York Times best-seller list in both paperback and hardback formats simultaneously. Live and Learn and Pass It On followed and also became a New York Times best-seller.
Brown's books have been translated into 35 languages and have sold millions of copies worldwide. They have spawned calendars, posters, apparel items, daily journals, greeting cards, audiocassettes, screensavers and even fortune cookies. Brown is also said to receive thousands of letters from readers all over the world. Their content ranges from the simple, "I enjoyed your book and I read a page or two every night before I go to bed" to the humbling "your book convinced our family to adopt a special needs child."
Remarking on his books, Jackson has said, "Most of us know what we need to do to make our lives more fulfilled and useful, but sometimes we forget. My little books are gentle reminders of those simple things which, if done well and in a spirit of love, can significantly change our lives."
ES MUY LINDO. Me encantaría ser una madre así para mis hijos. Sabiduría, humor y, sobre todo, mucho amor. Qué lindo volver a encontrarme con estas páginas después de tantos años ♡

Some of heartfelt advice from a loving mum to her son and daughter ring with truth and insight , they frankly made my day and give me punch of values and inspirations.. here of little i admire most :
-Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover. -when you invite trouble it's usually quick to accept -praise is satisfying to receive but it never teaches you anything new -don't be afraid to go out on a limb that's where the fruit is -sitting still and wishing makes no person great ..the good lord provides the fishes but you must dig bait -when fate shuts the door come in through the window -A friend is a person who knows all about you but likes you anyway -You'll learn more about a road by travelling it than by consulting all the maps in the world
This was a cute book of sayings but most of them sound like bumper stickers or quotes from other people. It may be true that they were all P.S. notes from his mom and they may be ones that influenced the reader(s) of her letters. If you are the type who love books of smart, witty, and/or positive sayings, then you will likely love this book. It would make a nice gift or a stocking stuffer. We received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review, which in no way influenced our opinion.
I think it isn't the best book I've ever read because firsty, the book was absolutely amazing but I think I was dissapointed by the ending. The characters are always the same and I think it's quite boring. I think it was too slowly.
Postada te amo, Creo que en cierta forma no es un libro triste, del todo, la autora supo como mezclar las emociones desde tristeza hasta comedia dentro de el.
Had some good points, and some things that really are still applicable even today, but almost none of these comments were actually something that the mother in the book 'came up with' It is, for the most part, repeated content that others have said or things that were on bumper stickers.

Mom gave a lot of good advice in the post scripts of her letters. This collection is a quick read, but quite thought-provoking. An example: “I’ve never seen a smiling face that was not beautiful.” Keep smiling!
