As the number of Evolved Humans increases, so does the pressure from the governments and people of the world. Father Mauricio begins searching for a way to help all Evos after befriending a troubled teenager who possesses a devastating secret. As a priest, it is Father Mauricio's calling to protect the innocent and this includes the Evos who, by no fault of their own, find their lives and freedom being threatened.
The second in the "Heroes Reborn" event series of six short thrillers based on the fascinating characters and rich mythology of NBC's world-wide hit TV series "Heroes", and the highly anticipated "Heroes Reborn". The new season picks up five years after the finale of the original series and finds those with special powers in a precarious and dangerous world where they are feared, persecuted and attacked.
New York Times-bestselling author Timothy Zahn is best known for his eight Star Wars novels. He is also the author of the "Quadrail" series, the "Cobra" series, and the young-adult "Dragonback" series. Recent books include "Terminator Salvation: Trial by Fire", a sequel to the movie, and "Cobra Guardian", the second of the "Cobra War Trilogy".
Timothy Zahn attended Michigan State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in physics in 1973. He then moved to the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and achieved an M.S. degree in physics in 1975. While he was pursuing a doctorate in physics, his adviser became ill and died. Zahn never completed the doctorate. In 1975 he had begun writing science fiction as a hobby, and he became a professional writer. He and his wife Anna live in Bandon, Oregon. They have a son, Corwin Zahn.
The second in the short e-book comapanion series to the TV show.
This time, the story focuses on the priest that turns into smoke. (I really enjoyed the suggestion that this character be called Holy Smoke.) At the suggestion of El Vengador, the priest goes about setting up an underground railroad to help Evos get to Canada.
This is what i was expecting when I heard about the series. We get to find out more about a secondary character and the world of Heroes in general. It doesn't give away any real secrets of the story that the show is following, but it does help to fill in some information that wasn't looked at that much in the show.
This is absolutely better than what was shown in the series, and actually made me feel sorry for the priest once I realized what happened to him in the actual show.
Gotta say, this series is really doing what the show is incapable of doing in 13 episodes; giving you a reason to care about all these new characters. Can't wait to read about Hiro, if they choose to write about him in the sequels.
This is a great story that give you a greater understanding to several characters on Heroes Reborn. I do not wish to state anything else so that I do not reveal any spoilers.
