Carrefour Italia Transforms Customer Service through Secure SD-WAN
Overview
Carrefour Italia is a grocery and retail merchandise leader with a network spanning 19 regions and with around 1,500 points of sale, of which over two-thirds are franchised. The retailer needed to transform its network to better support its increased use of cloud-based digital retail services, unlock the productivity of employees, and improve the customer experience, all without increasing its attack surface.
Carrefour Italia replaced its legacy network with Fortinet Secure SD-WAN, which integrates traffic steering, high availability, and other key networking capabilities into the operating system of the FortiGate Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW). Carrefour also deployed FortiManager as a virtual machine on the Google Cloud platform for simplified central management and opportunities for automation. Meanwhile, extended logging and analytics provided by FortiAnalyzer, also deployed in the cloud, has enhanced threat detection and incident response. Within 18 months, Fortinet Secure SD-WAN had been deployed to over 220 stores, with more joining each month. Carrefour can now provide a secure and high-performance network to stores and franchises so they can progress their digital transformations and deliver for customers.
