Dan Walker inundated with support as he unveils secret health battle

Dan Walker revealed a major injury has stopped him from playing his favourite sport.

Viewers have thrown their support behind TV presenter Dan Walker after he revealed he had been battling a secret illness.

The former BBC Breakfast star who has been open about his love for golf admitted he was forced to stay off the course for a few weeks.

Dan disclosed he has been in recovery after secretly nursing a painful injury and told fans he had torn wrist ligaments.

Thankfully, as his wrists heal, the 41-year-old can finally return to his favourite sport but has been taking it easy with some extra lessons.

Dan took to Instagram with a short video of him practising his swings at a state-of-the-art virtual driving range.

Fans caught a glimpse of his skills in the short clip as he had a go hitting the golf ball after weeks of inactivity.

Sharing his excitement and how happy he was to be back, Dan captioned the post: “It’s starting to feel a little bit more like normal 2nd session at @pitchgolf after 9 weeks off the course with torn wrist ligaments.”

As well as gaining back his ability to golf, Dan seemingly regained his confidence as he challenged PGA professional golfer Danny Willet.

He added: “@Danny.willett and I have our second golf day next Friday so need to get in shape to make sure he doesn’t destroy me again.”

Fans were pleased to see the TV star back to good health and inundated the comments with support and well-wishes
