| Description of the hosting organization | Steinbeis 2i GmbH (S2i) was founded in 2016 as a 100 % spin-off of Steinbeis-Europa-Zendrum (SEZ). SEZ of the Steinbeis Innovation gGmbH, is a non-profit organization and belongs to the Steinbeis Foundation for Economic Promotion. The spin-off Steinbeis 2i GmbH has taken over all 80 staff members and competences from SEZ, so that over 25 years’ experience of SEZ and senior expertise of its staff in building innovation capacities in SME and supporting cross-border research and technology transfer is fully guaranteed and now executed by Steinbeis 2i. Since 2008, SEZ and later S2i has been a member of the regional European Enterprise Network (EEN) consortia and is closely intertwined with the network of more than 1.200 Technology Transfer Centers of the Steinbeis Foundation for Economic Promotion mainly in Baden-Württemberg, but also in other regions in Germany and Europe. The Technology Transfer Centers are mostly attached to research organizations in order to guarantee close connection between R&D and industry. The core activities of S2i are assistance for organizations to participate in European R&D projects and to manage and support international research and innovation projects, to stimulate and support innovation processes in both small and large companies, to coordinate foresight activities as well as exploitation of research results, and to promote transnational technology transfer as well as the stimulation and support of the innovation process in industrial companies and provision of professional training. | |

| Description of the hosting organization | The University of Novi Sad, with more than 50,000 students and 5,000 employees, is one of the largest educational and research centers in Central Europe. It belongs to the group of comprehensive universities, which are characterized by providing nearly all fields of higher education.
Offers around 400 accredited study programs at the level of Bachelor, Master, Specialist and Doctoral studies. The University of Novi Sad has a well-developed research infrastructure and great potential for innovation. The Central Library and the Faculty and Institute libraries offer a rich array of publications that cover all relevant scientific areas and enable access to large electronic databases. Resulting from a special agreement on cooperation, researchers, professors and students have access to the Matica Srpska Library, the oldest Serbian scientific and cultural institution, founded in 1826, which offers more than three million publications. The University encompasses around 250 laboratories. Of special significance to the strengthening of innovativeness is the Technology Park of the University of Novi Sad. With the support of the Faculty of Technical Sciences, around 140 start-up and spin-off companies have been founded, mainly in the IT sector. PBN is responsible nationally for the co-ordination and implementation of the High-Growth-Company development of the manufacturing sector, reaching 300 SMEs in mechatronics, wood and food sectors. PBN has been founded AmLab – Advanced Manufacturing Digital Innovation Hub which organization is dedicated to be a training and research facility supplier of the manufacturing SMEs.Its objective is to translate the digitalization vocabulary into tangible added value performance on the shop floor. Key areas of competency are polymer printing, sensor technology and collaborative robotics. This latter has two thematic orientation – collaborative robots in the field of operator work and integration of sensor technology with robotics.PBN employs 23 professionals working at 3 regional offices.
