Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is getting some designer suits in next update

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is getting even more suits, including some designer outfits for both Peter Parker and Miles Morales that will hit the game for free on June 18.

In a PlayStation blog, developer Insomniac Games detailed the eight new suits, four of which were made in partnership with fashion mogul and designer Colm “KidSuper” Dillane and other celebrities. One Miles suit, called the “Metro Suit,” is a solo KidSuper effort that also comes with three additional variant colors and a top reminiscent of a puffer jacket.

Formula One driver Lando Norris, singer Rina Sawayama, and football athlete Vinícius Júnior also collaborated with KidSuper and Sony on their own suits that reflect a part of their personas, heritage, or sense of style. Júnior’s utilizes the Brazilian colors, while Sawayama’s for Peter makes him look like he’s about to hop on a motorcycle.

The other four suits bring in some familiar styles from outside the video game universe. Both Peter and Miles get Into the Spider-Verse-inspired suits (Miles’ is even animated), for example, and Miles is getting his Uptown Pride suit from the Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales standalone DLC.

The first Spider-Man game featured a ton of suits to choose from, but its sequel really upped the catalog size (there are suits for both Miles and Peter after all).

The update — referred to as version 1.003.000 — will also feature some changes based on “community feedback” and some general “stability improvements,” including the ability to switch around Symbiote and Spider Arms for traversal and parrying.

You’ll finally be able to play Half-Life: Alyx on PlayStation VR2 this summer
Half-Life Alyx being played with a PlayStation VR2 headset.

Sony has finally unveiled its PC adapter for PlayStation VR2, which will be released this August and finally enable players to try games like Half-Life: Alyx with the headset.

PSVR2 sports some impressive tech, but it's no secret that Sony has failed to support it with compelling games for the PS5. Earlier this year, it was teased that Sony was working on PC compatibility for the headset; now, we've learned that this will come in the form of a PC adapter that people can use with a DisplayPort 1.4 cable in order to play VR games through Steam. These are the minimum specs your PC will need in order to get the PSVR2 up and running, straight from the PlayStation Blog.

Sony just put one final nail in the PlayStation VR2’s coffin
The PlayStation VR2 sits on a table next to Sense controllers.

PlayStation VR2 has been murdered. The culprit: Astro Bot.

My favorite announcement of Sony's May 30 State of Play was Astro Bot, a new 3D platformer from Team Asobi that celebrates PlayStation history. It looks incredibly charming and stands out from the typical narrative-action games like Stellar Blade that Sony tends to release these days. That said, my excitement also comes with disappointment as it does not appear that the game will support PlayStation VR2. (Digital Trends reached out to Sony to confirm that was the case but has not gotten a response at the time of publishing this story.)

PlayStation State of Play returns this week, will feature 14 PS5 games
Three colorful PS5s float together in a line.

PlayStation will kick off the summer of digital video game reveal streams this week with a State of Play broadcast. The stream will take place at 3 p.m. PT on Thursday, May 30.

State of Play is one of Sony's primary livestream presentation formats. It tends to be slightly shorter than the company's flagship stream, the PlayStation Showcase. This State of Play is a significant one, though, as Sony's slate of first-party games for 2024 is entirely unknown at this stage. This stream should shed some light on what's coming later this year.
