Audi has turned to Facebook for its latest announcement. The German luxury automaker has posted a devilishly intriguing, and cruel, teaser image on its official Facebook page of what appears to be sport-tuned version of the RS5. In addition to the image, a rather cryptic post appears atop that states the company’s intention to “pay homage to its record-breaking past” and that a surprise was in store for the upcoming Pike’s Peak Hill Climb.

Indeed, that surprise may have already been revealed, as it looks likely that Audi will be entering a suped-up version of its RS5 for the famous race  held west of Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Specific details have yet to roll out, but we expect an even more powerful version of the RS5’s already beastly stock 444 horsepower 4.2-liter V8. As it stands, the RS5 can make the jump from 0-62 mph in 4.6 seconds with an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph and features Audi’s signature quattro all-wheel-drive system.

For the unfamiliar, Audi enjoyed a spell of success in the Hill Climb in the 1980’s  starting with John Buffum’s win in 1982 with an Audi Quattro and ending in 1987 with Walter Röhrl’s victory in a Sport Quattro. In 1984, former French rally driver Michèle Mouton created even more history for the Four Rings when she became the first woman to win the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb in her Audi Sport Quattro.

The 2012 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb kicks off August 12, where we imagine Audi will reveal how exactly it means to honor its past achievements. But until then, check out the video below.

Seguma 16Amp Level 1/2 EV Charger -- $120, was $160

If you need a more basic charger, this Level one and two charger from Seguma is a solid option and can deliver 16 amps and 3.84kW, which is pretty substantial. It also comes with a NEMA 6-20 plug and a standardized J1772 connector, which should work on most EV vehicles out there except for Tesla, which has its own connector. There are also some intelligent charging features, which include things such as protection against things like under and over voltage, leakage, and lighting, and it has an automatic cut-off when your EV is fully charged.
