A murder investigation has been launched in Cornwall after the death of a woman in the Liskeard area. Devon and Cornwall Police were alerted to the incident by the ambulance service this morning.

A woman was found deceased at an isolated property near Merrymeet, Liskeard, at around 8.40am today, Saturday, June 15. Officers attended and her next of kin have been informed.

A 75-year-old man from the Liskeard area has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody at this time. Devon and Cornwall Police say it is believed that the deceased and the suspect are known to each other.
