The A30 was closed in Cornwall because of over-running roadworks. The main A-road was shut in both directions this morning (June 19) after closing overnight as part of the A30 improvement scheme.

National Highways says the road will close from 8pm to 6am from June 18 to June 20, between Chiverton and Summercourt, with diversion routes in place. The A30 will also be closed this weekend, from 8pm Friday, June 21 until Monday, June 24 at 6am.

National Highways said: "The #A30 in #Cornwall remains closed in both directions between the #A3058 #Summercourt and #A390 #ThreeBurrows due to overrunning roadworks. Closure is expected to be removed within the next hour. Please allow extra time for your journey."

National Highways reports the road reopened by around 7.45am. The road is expected to close from 8pm overnight again today (June 19) until 6am tomorrow.

The A30 reopened at around 7.40am.
