Electra Loft Go! 7D EQ Step-Over Electric Bike

    Loft Go! 7D EQ Step-Over
A relatively lightweight e-bike (at 42 lbs.), the Loft Go! 7D EQ Step-Over is well-balanced, easy to pedal without its electric motor, and comfortable to ride. The brakes work great and inspire plenty of confidence during hard stops. It also has sleek good looks, and the model CR tested came with color-keyed blue metallic-painted fenders. Classic bike aficionados may note the split top tube, which hearkens back to the classic Peugeot Mixte frame of the 1970s. Although its scores in CR’s tests for range and acceleration are only so-so, this model could—like the Trek Dual Sport+ 2 Step-Over, but for a few hundred dollars less—be a great option for someone who wants something that works really well as a conventional bicycle, but still gives a boost of electric power when you’re leg weary and need a little help. The hub-mounted electric motor is quiet and provides a good amount of boost in the highest of the bike’s three power settings. Even so, there’s a momentary lag after the first pedal pressure is applied. The rudimentary display, which only shows power level and battery life, is bright and easy to see.
