    Aventon Soltera.2 Electric Bike

    Soltera.2
The Soltera.2 has a sturdy frame, comfortable upright riding position, excellent brakes, and a thumb-activated throttle that makes pedal-free cruising a breeze. The lowered top tube makes it easy to mount and dismount the bike without swinging your leg too high. The bike’s hub-mounted electric motor will also kick in when the rider starts pedaling. The motor has three power settings, although it can be difficult to discern the difference between them. When the battery is charged up, pedaling the Soltera.2 is easy, but once the juice runs out, it becomes a chore, even with seven speeds, especially if you’re headed up a hill. And with middling range numbers in CR’s testing, that may be sooner than you think. Also, the motor is a bit noisy and doesn’t crank out a particularly impressive amount of power. The bike’s handlebar-mounted display screen is large, with crisp graphics, although it can be difficult to see some of the smaller numbers while wearing sunglasses. Regardless of its faults, the Soltera.2 is modestly priced and could work reasonably well as a commuter or recreational bike.
