Talking Cars 403: Driving the Lexus RZ 450e

Plus, options for electric vehicle battery replacement

This week we discuss our first impressions of the all-electric Lexus RZ 450e. While the Toyota/Lexus family has a wide range of hybrid and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles, the RZ is Lexus’ first all-electric offering and marks what Lexus says is a shift to an EV-centric brand. It’s also the latest offering in the family of EVs that includes the Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4x. We focus on how the RZ stacks up against other EVs in terms of range and charging capability. And does the RZ provide enough luxury additions to make it worth the cost when compared with its nonluxury siblings?

    Audience question:
Are there any other decent, lower-priced alternatives to having an EV battery replaced by a dealer?
