The redesigned Kia Cadenza is a comfortable, quiet, and luxurious car that's chock-full of value, much like the first-generation model. Yet it seems to fly under people's radar when it comes to new, large sedans. It shouldn't. This got us thinking about other notably good cars that buyers largely have ignored.
The Buick Regal is one of those cars. This luxury compact sedan doesn't just beat out the BMW 3 Series in our ratings, it ties the Audi A4 in Overall Score for the category, thanks to its European-inspired driving character, strong four-cylinder turbo engine, and high-quality cabin. That's impressive stuff.
We also suggest that more do-it-yourself homeowners should steer toward the Honda Ridgeline. The un-truck Ridgeline isn't as rugged as traditional pickups, but its pleasant ride, composed handling, and unique features make it a superior daily driver. Other mentioned sleeper choices include the Ford C-Max hybrid, Genesis G90, and Subaru Legacy 3.6R Limited.
Our "Talking Cars" panel also discusses CR's findings regarding the Toyota Prius Prime. The plug-in version of Toyota's hot-selling Prius has close to double the electric-only drive range of the previous model, along with drivability, handling, and interior improvements.
