As 2017 draws to a close, it's time for reflection. For us that means looking back on the many cars we've had the opportunity to drive as part of our test program. Some of them are our personal picks; others made our own list of new cars to avoid.

Sometimes it's the little things that can define the overall impression of a car. Handling, acceleration, fuel economy, and comfort ultimately go a long way in determining how a car fares in our ratings. But the features—those that influence a car's day-to-day livability—can make or break a car for us individually.
