We bake dozens of cakes and hundreds of cookies every year to test how well electric wall ovens perform. In addition, to see whether these appliances hold up over time, we ask thousands of CR members to provide details about problems their wall ovens may have had and tell us how satisfied they are overall with their appliances.
We heard from members about their experiences with 12,938 electric wall ovens they bought between 2013 and 2023, and used the data to calculate predicted reliability and owner satisfaction ratings. Predicted reliability reflects the likelihood that models from a given brand will develop problems or break within the first five years. Owner satisfaction reflects the percentage of members who said they would recommend their wall oven.
