Police seek help identifying pedestrian seriously injured in Bloomfield Township crash

BLOOMFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. – Police in Bloomfield Township are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who was seriously injured when he was struck by a car.

It happened at about 5:15 a.m. Thursday, July 11, on Woodward Avenue, near Big Beaver Road. Police said they received 911 calls regarding a pedestrian walking in the northbound lanes of Woodward Avenue and officers were dispatched, but he was struck by a car before they arrived.

The driver called 911, remained on the scene and is cooperating with the police.

The pedestrian was rushed to Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak. Police said he’s on a ventilator and in serious condition.

Police described the pedestrian as a thin Black man in his 30s standing about 5 feet, 9 inches tall. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Bloomfield Township Police Department at 248-433-7755.
