Popular Detroit pub to open new walk-up window

The Old Shillelagh will be serving breakfast items

For decades people have flocked to The Old Shillelagh in Detroit to grab a drink, but now the Irish pub has a new trick up its sleeve. It’s rolling out a new walk-up window to serve breakfast items to help you get your day started.

The takeout window will offer dishes like breakfast bowls, smoothie bowls, smoothies, and oatmeal. One example is their green beat organic super greens pie bowl, which will feature organic baby spinach, kale and Swiss chard with almond feta baked between Filo dough crusts. It will then be topped with a choice of a fried egg or avocado with cashew tzatziki sauce. The dish will also come with home fries.

The Old Shillelagh, which opened back in 1975, will also sell sealed to-go Irish Coffees, Bloody Marys, and other breakfast drinks.

Diners will be able to order from The Old Shillelagh’s walk-up window beginning Wednesday, July 17th. The Old Shillelagh is located at 349 Monroe Street in Detroit.
