The Reytons play for 20,000 fans in home town

Indie rock band The Reytons are set to play a sell-out homecoming gig in Rotherham.

Hailing from the town, the band will be playing an outdoor show to 20,000 fans at Clifton Park later.

For concert-goers keen not to miss England's clash with Switzerland, the band have organised for the Euro 2024 quarter-final to be shown on a big screen.

They said ahead of the gig: "We’ve done our best to limit any clashes and inconveniences to assure that everyone has an amazing day."

The band, who are not backed by a label, formed in 2017 and released their debut album, Kids Off The Estate, in 2021.

Made up of frontman Jonny Yerrell, bass player Lee Holland, guitarist Joe O'Brien and drummer Jamie Todd, last year they scored their first UK number one album with their self-release What's Rock And Roll?

The musicians spent weeks campaigning to get to the top spot and opened a pop-up shop at Meadowhall shopping centre to sell their record.

Commenting on Facebook when the gig at Clifton Park sold out, the band said: "This is absolutely unbelievable… The record is complete!

"We have sold out every hometown show in Reytons History."
