Downloads: Use the free BBC Sounds app to listen live, rewind, download and subscribe to your favourite programmes and BBC podcasts, available from your mobile app store or on your internet browser.


Mobile: You can listen to BBC Radio Foyle on your smartphone if you visit http://www.bbc.co.uk/radiofoyle via your mobile browser. Our mobile site also provides access to our schedule, clips and more.


Please note: Streaming radio is a data intensive service. Whilst the BBC does not charge for its mobile content, your operator's charges for using the internet over 3G, 4G, or 5G may apply. Connecting via WiFi is recommended where possible.

International listeners


You can listen to BBC Radio Foyle online and via the BBC Sounds app if you live outside of the UK. However, some programmes – such as certain sports commentaries - maybe restricted due to rights reasons.

Your trust is very important to us. So the BBC is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information. The BBC will only use your personal data provided by text, phone, email, WhatsApp message, or social media for the purposes of the programme, to verify your contribution, and should we need to get in touch with you. The personal data will be your name and contact details, such as phone number, email address or social media account name (depending on how you contact us) and any personal data you choose to give us within the content of your contribution.

The BBC is the ‘data controller’ of this information. This means that the BBC decides what your personal information is used for, and the ways in which it is processed. The legal basis on which the BBC processes your personal information is the public interest in the BBC producing journalistic content. For editorial reasons and regulatory compliance, we will keep your data for up to one year for phone calls and emails, six months for WhatsApp messages, and two years for text messages and social media messages.

Your data is shared securely with companies who provide services to the BBC in order that we can receive and process your contributions. Those companies are: Broadcast Bionics for phone calls; IMI Mobile for text message, WhatsApp message, and social media contributions. We do not share your data or contributions with any other third parties.

Contributions sent to the BBC through other third-party social media services, third-party messaging services such as WhatsApp, or email are also subject to the terms and conditions of the service you choose to use, and you should refer to their privacy policies for how they process your data and their individual retention policies.
