The personality-based explanations will make it easy to remember the essential concepts behind musical expression. You'll never look at the orchestra or listen to a piece of music in the same way again!

Library Media ConnectionThese compact books are more packed with content than their cartoonish covers imply. Each book is illustrated with brightly colored graphics. The content is directed toward an older, hipper, pre-adolescent reader. Despite their detail-rich content, the writing tone is casual and accessible. These handy books serve as reference books on their respective topics; a teacher would appreciate a set in the ready-reference section of their classroom. They are good books to hand to a student who needs a fresh approach to the topic for clarification.

The Basher Science books are the first our children start out on as infants. They are enchanted still at ages 9 and 10 by the colorful, creative, fun, fascinating way sometimes-complex subjects are made simple, tangible, and practical. As an adult, I have never enjoyed the subjects that Basher offers as much as I do now with their brilliant books! The books' size, shape, graphics, text, font size, and colors all collaborate to make these what we wish were Required Reading for schools!

I have made our toddlers' homework with the Physics and other sciences Basher books, and would Love for Basher to create homework to accompany the books! Thank you for bringing to life the subjects about which you write, Basher Books!

Was pleasantly surprised that this little book looked exactly like it was shown. Fun and easy to read. I'm sure my nephew will love learning for the first time about music from this book, I know I did. This should be a great step forward in pursuing his musical career. Delivered on time and in great condition. Thanks again.

Compared to the other Basher books, this book seems a little smaller in size, check the page count, but at $3.20 this is a great deal! I also cannot understand how advanced some of the reviewers kids are, but my daughter who is an avid reader and loves collecting these books is enjoying this book and she squealed when she saw that I had ordered it for her. She is not new to music, she has taken piano since she was 4. Yes she knows these terms, but I think there are a lot of facts within the terms that may still surprise you. I learned a lot by reading this book. I liked how they included the genres of music such as blues and folk. My son is 8 and he has not read this book. He is not a reader, he prefers sports and he prefers reading Big Nate, Captain Underpants, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Comic books.

All of the Basher books are wonderful and my 7-year-old grandson loves them. He is beginning piano lessons and I bought this one to give him a head start on the terms. It is not his favorite, but I think he will enjoy it more as the lessons progress.

I cannot sing, and to add insult to injury, I lack the basic knowledge to appreciate music. Having read this book, I now think that maybe I can get better and enjoy music. This book boosted my confidence.

I was correct that books for kids could be used to boost an adult’s confidence.
