They are enchanted still at ages 9 and 10 by the colorful, creative, fun, fascinating way sometimes-complex subjects are made simple, tangible, and practical. As an adult, I have never enjoyed the subjects that Basher offers as much as I do now with their brilliant books! Compared to the other Basher books, this book seems a little smaller in size, check the page count, but at $3.20 this is a great deal! I also cannot understand how advanced some of the reviewers kids are, but my daughter who is an avid reader and loves collecting these books is enjoying this book and she squealed when she saw that I had ordered it for her. She is not new to music, she has taken piano since she was 4. Yes she knows these terms, but I think there are a lot of facts within the terms that may still surprise you. I learned a lot by reading this book. I liked how they included the genres of music such as blues and folk. My son is 8 and he has not read this book. He is not a reader, he prefers sports and he prefers reading Big Nate, Captain Underpants, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Comic books.
