From Booklist

Basher’s little cartoon icon cuties have infiltrated middle-grade science books, beginning-reader ABC books, and now board books. One of six fundamental shapes—square, circle, triangle, rectangle, star, and heart—is shown on the left-hand page, and on the opposite page is bouncy Bobo (a smiling, X-eyed baby with a Band-Aid on his head, possibly from bouncing too raucously) interacting with each shape, whether in the form of presents and dice (square), buttons and oranges (circle), or HDTVs and cityscapes (rectangle). Both simple and charming, the high-contrast, boldly colored graphics make for delicious morsels of toddler eye candy. Preschool. --Ian Chipman

Review

“Both simple and charming, the high-contrast, boldly colored graphics make for delicious morsels of toddler eye candy.” ―Booklist

“These sturdy board books with rounded corners are solid choices.” ―School Library Journal

“The glossy, dramatic artwork and the sturdy pages are a perfect combination for introducing BoBo and shapes to pre-school children.” ―Tucsoncitizen.com

“The Go! Go! Bobo board books are bright delights, filled with pictures of a bouncy baby zipping through the air amid a whole series of shapes or colors. Basher manages to make the simple books extra-attractive in several ways. In Shapes, for example, he shows a basic square and then has Bobo bounce through wrapped square packages in front of which square dice are visible. A circle leads to a bounce through buttons and oranges; a heart, to heart-shaped balloons and strawberries; and so on.” ―Transcentury.blogspot.com

This is the best shapes book I have come across. My daughter loves it, she makes me read it to her over and over. It can calm her when she is crying, and it great at bed time play time and nap time. My daughter is 10 months old, we got this book as a gift when she was about 6 months. I can't keep it on the book shelf because she loves it so much. This book is put together in such a way that its easy for her to turn the pages, and its quite durable as she has chewed on it a lot and it shows very little ware.
