Simply superb, excellent vacuum cleaner.
5 out of 5 stars
Simply superb, excellent vacuum cleaner.
The best vacuum cleaner I have ever used. It does a superb job cleaning. I don't care about battery life, I want the rugs cleaned, so I always use the boost mode; which is well named because it actually boots the power: variably. If you stop pushing it slows down the motor, saving battery power, and when you push it the motor speeds up.The top display showing 100% to 10% battery capacity is actually helpful; not a gimmick.Even on boost the vacuum is very quiet. The HEPA filter is priceless. For decades I've just been spraying the micron dust everywhere, but now you can see it accumulate in the collection cup; which you need to empty outside or it gets everywhere again.I find that I have to wash all the filters after cleaning the whole house because they look clogged, and it makes me feel like it's doing a much better job with very use.My first complaint is the little clip that holds the hose to the handle falls off all the time. The real complaint is that the release button for the handle is way too easy to bump and the whole handle just comes off from the rest of the unit, very annoying. See picture. The vacuum is NOT lightweight, but since is does a superb job, it's worth the effort.

Over the last 10 years, I’ve purchased at least 5 (including this one) battery operated hard floor vacuums. I don’t remember all the product names but they range in price from $60-$400. I wasted too much money trying to save money so this time I was going to suck it up and buy the beloved Dyson that everyone raves about. I wasn’t sure which Dyson was best for me so I started doing some research. I came across a few different YouTube videos of users testing the top rated stick vacuums and this Shark vortex pro kept popping up and it tested way above the latest and greatest Dyson. So I decided, since Amazon makes it so easy to return stuff, I would try it out. I am so glad I did! The battery life is amazing! I rarely have to use it on the highest suction level so I get max battery life. That in and of itself says a lot because we have 4 adult's, 2 BOYS under the age of three and 2 cats. We have a 2 story, 2200 square foot house and I can vacuum the entire downstairs on one battery charge. After I bought mine on Amazon, I went to see how much a replacement battery costs and noticed the shark website sells them with an extra battery, otherwise the battery is around $80. It comes with great accessories, even a fan blade and window blinds tool, which works great for vacuuming the top of cabinets and the fridge. It also has an upholstery tool, crevice, and brush tool. The lift off feature is amazing for stairs and the above mentioned tasks. It’s not heavy at all. The motor and dust bin is the heaviest part which is also the lowest part so no more top heavy stick vacuums that won’t stand up on its own, which is how my last one broke. The dustbin size was one of the things I was worried about but I haven’t had to stop and empty it mid-vacuum, I just empty it when I’m done which is super simple. The only thing that bugs me about it is you have to use your fingers (or in my case, a hair cutting/detail brush that came with my last vacuum) to pull any wrapped hair or dust out of the bottom part of the bin. It has two self cleaning rollers on the floor head. One is a soft dusting roll and the other is the typical brush roll. They both can easily be removed if need be. I love the dusting roller for my hard floors, it makes a HUGE difference! I don’t even use my swiffer dust mop anymore. The ease of use with this thing is just outstanding. It’s the little things like how easy the battery comes out, the fact that you don’t have to move the position of your hand to detach the wand or change suction power or go from hard floors to carpet. It’s just an all around smooth process. I’ve only had my vortex for about a month so, if I have any problems with it in the near or far future, I WILL come back and update my review!

ok. . . .I've owned the earlier version of this Shark Vertex Pro for 6 years (P50-IC162) for 6 years. . .loved it. Got an itch for something new, started shopping around on Amazon. I purchased three other similar vacuums, based on ratings and reviews. . .shipped them all right back for a refund. None were even comparable to my Shark. Finally decided to purchase this one, and it is the new and improved version of my original. It does NOT disappoint either! I LOVE it! If I started writing about all the reasons why, I could write a book. . .I'll try to condense by saying: 1) it has a little weight to it, so it is much easier to control your path as you vacuum (the others were so lightweight that they were constantly pivoting and I felt like I had to fight with them to keep them on track); 2) the suction is excellent 3) the collection cup is bigger than any of the other stick vacuums I purchased 4) the battery life is excellent; I have a 1200 square foot home and can vacuum every inch of floor in one shot without worrying about the battery running out 5) easy to put together and take apart; a single button to easily remove the debris cup, empty it and snap it back into place 6) when you're finished vacuuming, you definitely feel like your floors are clean 7) the versatility of the attachments make it easy to clean anything from the cobwebs on the ceiling to the crumbs on the floor and everything in between with ease. This model is similar in feel to a standard vacuum without the cord or the weight. My older vacuum is going to one of my sons, who is in need of a new vacuum. Truth be told, it works great and I had no reason to replace it other than wanting something new LOL. Lesson learned - you can't beat this Shark. It's a little more expensive than some of the highly rated stick vacuums on Amazon, but trust me. . .it's worth that extra money. In the end, it's all about how well it cleans. . .put it up against any other stick vacuum on Amazon. . .I promise you once you get your hands on this one, you'll see what I mean. It's the best, hands down.

If you contemplating buying a cordless, just buy this one!
I was super nervous buying a cordless because they don't usually work good and I've tried cheaper ones in the past. If you contemplating buying Shark vs Dyson vs Tineco, buy Shark. My previous Shark Rotator LiftAway Truepet Professional was still kicking it and doing well for almost 10 years. The only reason I had to buy a new one was because the hose wore out and cracked and I was over the wire and carrying it in my tri-level home. Do you have animals? This does great with their fur, cat litter, and food. Kids? Does great picking up all kinds of dirt and food.
Pros: lightweight (my 6 year old is able to vacuum), still get a lift away, weight of cordless at the bottom (not top like most), still get great suction like my corded Shark (I'm amazed), battery life, gets edges better than my corded Shark, still get that closed HEPA filtration, does better on bathroom rugs.
Cons: no light on the hose of the lift away, no spots to store attachments, seems small for the price, you have to touch the cannister inside when you empty it if there is hair wrapped around it, smaller canister (empty more frequently, but it doesn't bother me cuz it's big enough to only empty after I am done with the my whole 1800 sq ft home), it does having smaller pipes and have to open it to get stuck food (but super easy to do).
IT STILL DESERVES 5 STARS FROM ME! I am truly impressed and see it lasting another 10 years.
TEAM SHARK!

5.0 out of 5 stars Surpassed my expectations
Reviewed in Canada on March 22, 2022
Lived up to my hype for the product.
Pro: gets my hardwood floors super clean, almost like it's been dusted. I walk around barefoot and can notice a vast difference once the floor has been vacuumed. I have small amount of rugs and it gets those very clean as well. Smallish bath mats you have to secure as the vacuum will suck it off the floor otherwise. It's easy to maneuver. Can vacuum my whole house on medium level with occasional max mode twice on one charge. The max mode is not necessary for daily vacuum. Great for pet hair and long hair pickup no tangling noted. Doesn't struggle with bulky pickup. We did a lot of dust bunny pickup and it handled it like a champ. Love that it's cordless you can just go. Good height fits under most of my furniture in the lift away mode

Cons: it's pricy! For that price a small motorized attachment would be a great addition for car seats etc. The crevice nozzle is the only attachment that is useful. The brushes are too weak to get anything off of couch etc. Wish the canister was a smitch bigger but it's still ok for a small apartment without needing to empty mid vac.

Overall I think it's a great vacuum and would strongly recommend
