Leukocytes tests for the presence of white cells in the urine. Presence of leukocytes may be a sign of UTI, kidney infection, kidney stones or a blockage in the urinary tract.

NITRITE

Some types of infections convert nitrates into nitrites. The presence of nitrites in urine is an indicator of an infection in the urinary tract, which may be a sign of UTI, kidney infection, kidney stones or a blockage in the urinary tract.

pH

Abnormal urine pH levels may indicate kidney stones, kidney problems or the onset of a urinary tract infection. Urine pH levels will vary during the day, going from more acid in the morning to more alkaline in the evening.

Immerse Strip Into Urine

You can simply urinate on the test strip or urinate into a urine sample cup and then immerse the strip into the collected urine. Please make sure that the test strip does not contact urine for more than 2 seconds.

Hold Horizontal for 60 Seconds

Once the test strip has contacted urine you must hold it horizontal so that the color pads do not bleed on to each other and skew results. Wait for 60 seconds for the reactions on the color pads to take place.

Read the Results

Hold the urine test strip against the color chart on the product bottle to read the results. Make sure to record your results and see a healthcare professional if necessary.

These work great. Just be careful to store them away in a cool/dey/dark place with the lid tightly twisted on. They do need to be kept fresh to remain accurate. I had an older bottle of the very same item for over two years. It no longer measured things accurately. The new bottle worked just fine.

I’m always cautious about uti strips because I do not think they work properly. The test is super sensitive and not practical to use even with a a urine cup. It gets messy and I’m never sure it’s reliable. I would always go check at a lab with your doctor if you suspect a UTI
