I am already using the Microsoft Translator on my PC and have found it invaluable to me! I have studied French and Italian but that was many years ago and I always need some assistance in completing sentences and using the best vocabulary. But...in addition to those languages, I have friends in Germany and Brazil and am so pleased that I can send short messages to them in German and Portuguese.I truly love the Translator and cannot imagine being without it.E. I think the only thing so far that I don't like is that it doesn't have a 'repeat' or 'replay' function, as far as I can tell. Oh, and I can't get the Klingon language to play - only shows text.

The voice input is also horrible, I know I have an accent, but other translate tool can understand me, this one can't. Not helpful for academic use, but might be good enough for daily conversation.

Interface shows promise but app is completely unreliable if you are in communication survival mode in a place like China. Typing communication us only english-chinese when we really also need a Chinese keyboard because the spoken translation accuracy us maybe 10% and that us when it is working which it often isn't because it relies on mobile data/WiFi (we have those and still unresponsive). The photo translate mode is so so but does not work with fonts. Ordered something from Chinese menu based on translation and received beef fat instead of beef- translation error. Recommend paying for a completely offline 2 way translator (if you can find one). Forget Google which is inaccessible here. With this app, frustration abounds.

Recently took a trip to Japan, with a 17-hour layover in Tokyo (oy). The pod hotel was full up so I was stuck in the international terminal overnight. I ended up meeting two very sweet Japanese women, and through this app and one that one had on her phone, we were able to talk for over five hours while waiting for the domestic terminal to open back up at 5 a.m. It was great! The one woman was totally amazed that we were able to talk in this fashion. I'm so glad I did my research and decided on this app. Made those 17 hours almost bearable! LOL
