I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. I fell in love with the characters. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. It's different than any book I've ever read before. I wish it was a real place, I would love to visit!

I loved reading this charming and inventive book. The characters are finely-drawn and amusing, and you find yourself rooting for them and their run-down French village. If you have spent time in the French countryside you will relate to this story and these characters. I recommend this highly to anyone who loves a comedic adventure, but especially to those who love France and her people and institutions.

This book! It's so funny and clever. And it kept on surprising me right up to the end. I wish it had been longer. The premise is good. The plot is excellent. The characters are spot on. It's laugh-out-loud funny in places and the story bounces around keeping you on your toes in a really good way. I mainly read this on my commute and it really lifted my mood every time I picked it up. I wholeheartedly recommend this book (and would snap up the film rights immediately if I could). The writing started off well and kept getting better so I am looking forward to reading the next one by this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars A warm and witty comedy

I’ve really enjoyed reading Phil Ogley’s latest. This rural farce is full of great one liners and hilarious moments. It’s sending up small town life, but with a great deal of affection. Ogley writes with a light touch; you can ease right into the story, right up until something makes you laugh out loud. If you’re familiar with rural life, you’ll definitely recognise the characters and their petty rivalries. And if you just enjoy a fun read with a plot that takes all kinds of unexpected turns, then this one is for you.

I normally just read really gritty thrillers but in lockdown decided I wanted something a bit more lighthearted. I absolutely loved this book. The characters were amazing and it really made me laugh all the way through. I lived in France for a few years when I was younger and can really picture all the characters in it. I really hope he writes some more.

Le Glitch is a fast paced entertaining read, with hugely accurate and honest characterisation of the Brits abroad and French rural life. Clever and witty, a breath of fresh air. Highly recommended.
