I ordered these to replace a pair of B&W mm-1 computer speakers, which are now discontinued and do not work with Windows 10. Sound quality may be subjective, but this Edifier model clearly does not meet the sound quality the B&Ws provided. However, this Edifier model didn't cost an arm and a leg, which the B&Ws certainly did., so that has to be taken into account. If you listen to popular music or play games Edifier is very good. The sound quality is also excellent for movie viewing. Edifier does make more expensive speakers, so if you're willing to spend more, I'm sure the sound quality appreciates greatly with the price.
I was very impressed with the packaging and presentation of these speakers. Fit and finish were excellent, each of the speakers was covered in a protected bag, and the enclosed accessories were accessible and well placed.
I also chose Edifier for the design of the speakers. Very modern and very attractive. They definitely look good on a desk, unlike a lot of desktop speakers which are boxy and cheap looking - and some of them are almost as expensive or more expensive than this Edifier model. If you're a "must have thunderous bass at all times" person, you probably need a subwoofer, but I find the bass output substantial and I think most people will too.
I realize not everyone wants to spend this amount on desktop computer speakers, but if you can, the Edifier e25HD should definitely be on your radar. You are definitely not going to find any speakers of this quality and attractiveness for a lower price. I call that great value.

Ok sound, but really good looking set.
Good looking speakers, I have had many desktop speakers including Definitive Technology Incline, BW MM1, Creative T40, Klipsch promedia... These take the cake on looks. I do a little bit of sound engineering and mixing on the side so I do know good speakers when I hear them (I use Yamaha MSP7s and The SW10 sub for my studio) these are ok sound wise... Its because I really like the way they look that I am being 4 star generous. I don't use these as a primary setup but more for in the background kinda music while I work, the sound over optical is clear and definitely exaggerated in the highs but not unpleasant. Mids sound muffled, if you are used to having a subwoofer bass will almost be non existent to you. These are very suitable for classical rock, chill budha bar type sound, house, trance and electronic in general, hip hop can sound a bit drowned out and you wont get that bassy oomph. The remote is how I turn them on and off but thats about it, don't really walk around with it might be useful to someone who hooks it up to a TV. I'm happy with them but more because of their looks not the sound, would give them a 3 otherwise.

These look great and sound okay, but don't expect miracles. You're paying some money here for a sexy looking speaker and gives up some ultimate sound quality in the process. I'm an audiophile with 20K invested in my 2 channel system, so I'll review accordingly.
It's not realistic to judge small plastic speakers against larger and more expensive systems, but these are fairly articulate and open sounding. In spite of the passive radiators, they don't produce much bass. You'll get good highs and reasonable midrange. They are more resolving than I expected. They do look fantastic and can play pretty loud. The remote works well and it's nice that you don't have to fumble with the speaker controls. I'm using them with a new Mac Studio.
